You don’t! You get out of there ASAP. You owe it to yourself to move on.
There are plenty of companies/leaders that will appreciate you, motivate you, challenge you and empower you. There is ZERO reason to stay at a company where your boss isn’t that person.
The responsible adult in you says, “I can’t go anywhere without another job first” or “I’m lucky to have a job”. Yes, ideally you want another job first. However, don’t you dare be scared to challenge yourself. When your back is against the wall, you will not fall, you will not crumble.
I walked out of my first recruiting job after less than two years. I loved my job! Yet, something happened that caused me to have an epiphany. Things weren’t being done the right way. We weren’t treating our clients and candidates correctly. I walked out on Friday without a plan. I felt free, empowered. Wednesday I decided to open Techees. That was almost 9 years ago and one of the best things I’ve ever done.
I’m not saying to jump ship without a life jacket. I’m simply saying you do NOT, and shouldn’t have to tolerate or deal with a difficult boss.
I’d love to hear your stories about you standing up for yourself and wanting more. Or do you completely disagree? Comment below
