Hi, I’m Brianna Rooney

I was 20 years old, fresh out of graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. I had just spent years studying fashion because I was convinced it was my calling.

I quickly realized opening your own boutique takes money – something I definitely didn’t have at the time – so I went to bartending school in hopes to make my dream a reality (and party at the same time).

Two years later (and too much of a good time), I realized it was time to grow up and get a “real” job…

…One that didn’t require late-night taxi rides home and a stop at Jack in the Box.

Little did I know the universe had a plan in motion, and someone spotted my resume on Monster.com. He was a recruiter and asked if I had heard of the industry.

This was fate. I was sure of it.

The next day I went into the interview and the owner went on and on about how I could make a ton of money placing software engineers. They worked with startup companies in the Bay Area and ended up hiring me on the spot.

That first year I made almost $90,000.
I loved what I was accomplishing, but felt the way I was taught to recruit just wasn’t right.

Being a recruiter, you have a responsibility. You hold people’s livelihood in your hands. “With great power. Comes great responsibility” -Spider-Man’s uncle Ben.

At age 24, I walked out on a 6-figure job on the spot. No plan.

Feeling empowered and fearless, I started my own firm five days later; Techees.

I didn’t have any experience running a business.

Not much money saved.

What 24-year-old saves?

What I did have, was balls and a Macy’s credit card. I’d figure out the rest.

Now with over 10 years experience, I’m the leader in the industry and the ultimate matchmaker, taking pride with a creative personal touch.

Today I train people to do the same thing.

See, as a recruiter you’ll get to set your own hours, and (as if that’s not reason alone to consider this), the more candidates you connect with jobs, the more you can earn.


That means there’s no cap to how much you can earn, and what’s better than making a difference in people’s lives AND making money doing it?

This past summer my family and I lived in Sayulita, Mexico for 80 days. I got to spend my days with my family on the beach and work from my laptop at the pool.

Listen, I definitely feel that I was lucky to have this opportunity fall into my lap.

But I was hungry enough to make it work.

A recruiter is someone who understands the positions clients need to fill, and identifies  candidates with the talent and experience required of a particular job. They may work for an agency, in-house at a company, or as a freelance recruiter.  Depending on where/how you choose to work, when it comes to getting paid, you will get a percentage of the candidates first year starting salary.
